Following the announcement, Dermysk Academy offers 6 unique courses, all focused on the field of medical aesthetics. Students can begin with a comprehensive Basic Medical Aesthetics Course, with only a high school diploma or relevant work experience as a prerequisite.
The Basic course covers everything required to begin providing a wide range of treatments to paying clients, including an overview of the legal and regulatory considerations, and basic business strategies. Students will also learn about the biology of hair and skin, and the physics behind laser hair removal, photorejuvenation, and pigmentation.
While the basic course provides certification for several popular procedures, it also acts as the prerequisite for the Advanced Medical Aesthetics course, which includes training in Body Sculpting. Students may also access this course without previous certification if they have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Aesthetician.
This advanced course focuses on micro-needling, stem cell treatments, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and managing complications caused by either health concerns or difficult clients. It also teaches Body Sculpting, which is a non-invasive procedure that is commonly used to selectively reshape a client’s physique.
Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy uses a combination of several teaching styles, designed to maximize the education and practical experience of its students, while still allowing them to learn at their own pace. Courses will include training modules that can be completed at home, at a student’s convenience, as well as in-class learning, and hands-on training with actual clients.
The exact combination of learning styles, prerequisites, and amount of in-person training required varies from course to course. New students, taking the Basic course, can expect to receive 7 training modules to complete at home, as well as 1 week of hands-on training from a specialist.
A spokesperson for the Academy explained, “At Dermysk, we offer small class sizes with adequate one-on-one attention from instructors. You’ll experience individualized practical training to make sure you master the treatments at your own pace. Our courses will make you ready for real-world practice on day one after graduation.”
