Brinton Vision Answers Question: Does Lens Replacement Improve Vision

St. Louis’ own Brinton Vision recently produced an article discussing the benefits of the Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) procedure. RLE is a procedure that corrects age-related visual changes by switching out the natural inner lens with an artificial lens. This artificial lens, made of acrylic, is placed just behind the colored portion of the eye. Not only does the acrylic lens replace the aging, internal lens, but prevents the formation of cataracts in the years to come.

This informative article discusses how RLE can benefit a variety of patients, helping those who suffer from nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and presbyopia (age-related vision changes). These factors along with several others help the refractive specialist doctor to determine who may be a candidate.

In an effort to educate the general public about their options, a series of articles has recently been published on the Brinton Vision website. These articles address RLE, as well as LASIK and the five other alternative refractive procedures that Brinton Vision uses to help change lives through the gift of sight.
