Chiropractor Greensboro Clinic Posts Article On How A Job Can Shorten Life Expectancy

Cobb Chiropractic Clinic, based in Greensboro, North Carolina, has announced that they have recently published a blog post on how a job can shorten a person’s life. The article was posted on their website and is titled, “How Your Job Could Be Shortening Your Life.” Studies have shown that men whose job require a lot of physical labor are 18 percent more likely to die prematurely than those who have a desk job. Studies also found that those who are overly stressed at work tend to have a shorter life expectancy. The chiropractor Greensboro clinic offers spinal adjustments that can heal the body and put it back to its natural position.

Dr. Shane A. Cobb, the leading chiropractic physician at Cobb Chiropractic Clinic, says, “The job you choose has a severe impact on your life. And now we know it can also have a deadly impact. Jobs that demand a lot of physical exertion and jobs that create a lot of stress have been proven to shave years off of your life. First, if at all possible find a job you love. Or at least learn to love your job. If you enjoy the work you do, you are far less likely to be stressed about it.”

But for those who have physically demanding or stressful jobs, there are a number of things that people can do to counteract the negative effects. Working out can have positive effects. Exercising after work can keep the body in shape and prepared for the work that needs to be done while the person is on the job. Another way to take better care of the body is to visit a chiropractor. This is because a chiropractor can take care of the whole body and can help the body in healing itself and recovering on its own.

The newly published blog post is part of an active blog of the Cobb Chiropractic Clinic to help people become more knowledgeable about taking care of their health. In a previous blog post, the chiropractic clinic discussed how whiplash negatively affects the body. Dr. Cobb says, “We provide a lot of information that can help people with regards to their health. People may also want to check us out on Twitter.”

Cobb Chiropractic Clinic offers treatment for various kinds of injuries. These include whiplash, back pain, neck pain, sciatica, slip and falls, headaches, auto accident injuries, sports injuries, carpal tunnel, herniated disc, nerve pain, scoliosis, and soft tissue damage.

Whiplash is a common condition of people who got involved in a car accident. Dr. Cobb points out that while the symptoms of whiplash might not be immediately noticeable right after the accident, the symptoms will persist. That is why it is important to have it treated as soon as possible. Whiplash injuries do not just result from car accidents. Other causes are sports injuries, repetitive stress motions, blows to the head, roller coasters, slips and falls, and bike accidents.

The symptoms of whiplash usually include a degree of pain in the neck but it can also cause muscle soreness and stiffness. Signs and symptoms of whiplash include neck soreness; headaches; sleep disturbances; jaw tightness; difficulty concentrating; excessive tiredness; difficulty chewing; difficulty in rotating the head; flexing and extending difficulties; neck, back and shoulder tenderness; and muscle spasms.

When treating whiplash, a chiropractor will start by taking an x-ray of the injured area and determining its severity. Next, the chiropractor will ask a number of questions, such as when the pain started, how the injury occurred, how the patient had managed the pain so far, whether the pain radiates to other parts of the body, what causes the pain to decrease or increase, and the level of pain that is being felt. Chiropractors often use two kinds of techniques to treat whiplash. The two methods are instrument assisted adjustments and manual spinal manipulations.

Dr. Shane A. Cobb is a native of Greensboro and is a second generation Doctor of Chiropractic. He obtained his degree from the Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He specializes in the treatment of the effects of whiplash, back pain, neck pain, headaches, workers compensation injuries, slip and fall injuries, and sports injuries.
