Randy Rosenblum of Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum, LLP has been recognized by TopVerdict.com for his contributions to two of the "Top 10 Verdicts" for product liability cases in Florida last year. As a member of the legal team that secured the largest product liability verdict statewide last year, Rosenblum helped obtain $36 million in compensation from Philip Morris, USA for the widow of a smoker. In another major victory, Rosenblum and co-counsel (Gary M. Paige of Gordon & Doner; Norwood S. Wilner and Richard J. Lantinberg of The Wilner Firm, P.A.; and Charlie E. Farah and Eddie E. Farah of The Law Firm of Farah & Farah, P.A.) successfully argued a case that produced a $3 million compensatory product liability verdict against R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.

These two verdicts ranked first and eighth with regard to dollar amount on a TopVerdict.com ranking of the largest product liability awards in Florida last year. As one of the only attorneys to appear twice on the list, Rosenblum contributed greatly to the firm-wide Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum total of more than $50 million in verdicts obtained in tobacco cases since the start of 2017. In 2018, Rosenblum and co-counsel obtained another verdict against the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, this time for $7.5 million, bringing his total to three multi-million dollar awards in the space of less than two years.

"We'd all like to applaud Randy for his truly impressive work on these complex, challenging, and important cases over the course of the last year," said Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum partner Manuel Dobrinsky. "The tobacco companies are ruthless about trying to escape their responsibilities, and that leaves far too many families grieving the losses of their loved ones alone. Randy's tireless dedication to securing these amply justified verdicts has been an inspiration to us all. We're proud to work alongside Randy and confident that he will provide invaluable representation to many more victims and families in the future."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that cigarette smoking contributes to nearly half a million deaths in the United States annually. While the smoking rate has dropped steadily over the course of the last fifty years and recently reached a record low, about 16 million Americans are now living with diseases attributable to the habit, according to the same source.

In helping to obtain two of last year's largest product liability verdicts in Florida, Randy Rosenblum secured justified compensation for the families of the victims and helped hold two major tobacco companies accountable for the long-acknowledged dangerousness of their products. Rosenblum's continued success in 2018, as reflected in still another major tobacco case verdict, is a product of his drive, shared by all at Dolan Dobrinsky Rosenblum, to ensure that victims and their families will always receive the representation and compensation they deserve.
