GreenPoint Roofing's 6th Annual Veteran Roof Donation

By: PRLog

LONGMONT, Colo. - Nov. 8, 2023 - PRLog -- GreenPoint Roofing announced today that they will donate a roof to a local family of veterans in need of a roof replacement. This annual donation started in 2017 as an effort to show gratitude for the service of our local veterans. Greenpoint Roofing remains very grateful to those who have sacrificed so much for our great country.

This Veterans Day, November 11, 2023, a roof will be installed at the home of the Simer Family. Both Mrs. Deborah Simer and Mr. Robert Simer served in our military.

Deborah served in the US Marines and Marine Reserve between 1993-2003. She started her career in personnel, troop transport and supply field. Throughout her time in the military, Deborah was stationed in Hawaii, North Carolina and at Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado when there were MACS-23s at the Reserve Center. She also participated in joint training exercises in California, Georgia and Michigan. For the last ten years, Deborah has served as Coordinator for Larimer County Toys for Tots. Deborah and her team work to provide Christmas joy to approximately 11,000 local children across Larimer, Broomfield and Boulder counties every holiday season.

Robert Simer served in the US Air Force and Air National Guard between 1986-1997. He worked in combat communications and went on to serve with the Department of Justice, the Department of Administration, the Department of the Interior and the Department of Energy for a total of 34 years of government service. He was stationed in Colorado, South Carolina, Texas, California and Arkansas. Rob was also deployed during Desert Storm to the middle east including Iraq and Turkey. Rob is currently the Chapter Commander for the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association (CVMA) which partners with other veteran organizations to support local area veteran families.

The roof that will be donated on November 11th will be built with Malarkey Vista Class IV Impact Resistant shingles. In the event of a future catastrophic wind or hail storm, The Simers will not have to worry about roof replacement or the cost associated with one.

GreenPoint Roofing is grateful to The Simer Family and to all of our veterans for their service.
