Vortex Car Wash & Pet Wash has introduced self-serve pet wash stations at both of its Livingston County locations, giving pet owners in the Brighton and Hamburg, Michigan area access to a dedicated dog wash facility that operates around the clock without appointments or grooming staff on site.
The pet wash stations, available at Vortex Car Wash located at 524 W Grand River Ave in Brighton and 7552 M-36 in Hamburg, are part of the company's VIP program — Vortex Important Pet. Each bay is equipped with warm water, shampoo, conditioner, and a high-velocity dryer. The stations are designed to accommodate dogs of all sizes, with a raised tub for standard use and a floor-level option for larger or less mobile animals. All supplies are included; owners bring only their pet.
The addition addresses a gap in the local market for self-service dog washing outside of grooming salon hours. Traditional pet grooming businesses in the area operate on appointment schedules with limited evening and weekend availability. The Vortex pet wash stations run on the same 24-hour, seven-day schedule as the company's car wash services, making them accessible after work hours, on weekends, and on short notice.
"A lot of people need to wash their dog at inconvenient times — after a muddy hike, after a run-in with a skunk, late on a Sunday night," said Matthew Pierce, owner of Vortex Car Wash & Pet Wash. "We wanted to offer something practical that fits into people's actual schedules, not just business hours."
The pet wash is available to all customers on a pay-per-use basis at both locations. Vortex Car Wash & Pet Wash also operates automatic car wash service, self-service car wash bays, and a Wash Every Day membership program at both sites. Monthly memberships start at $25 for the Silver tier and include unlimited car wash visits. Platinum and Gold members receive additional benefits including free access to self-service bays and vacuum stations at both locations.
The car wash side of the operation offers three service tiers built around Michigan's driving conditions. The Silver package covers a standard touchless wash cycle including double presoak, high-pressure cleaning, protective coating, spot-free rinse, and forced-air drying. The Gold tier adds undercarriage washing and rocker panel treatment — both directed at the road salt and de-icing chemicals that accumulate on the underside and lower body panels of vehicles during Michigan winters. The Platinum tier includes graphene wax application, which bonds to the vehicle's surface and creates a water-repelling barrier that extends protection between washes. All three tiers are available as single-visit purchases or as part of the Wash Every Day monthly membership.
The self-service car wash bays at both locations give drivers the option to handle their own washing with professional-grade equipment on site, including high-pressure spray wands and foaming brushes. Platinum and Gold members receive complimentary time in the self-service bays as part of their membership, along with access to free vacuum stations after each wash. The membership also covers both locations under a single plan, so drivers who travel between Brighton and Hamburg can use whichever site is more convenient without managing separate accounts. Families with multiple vehicles can add up to five cars to a single membership plan through the company's mobile app.
The company serves residents throughout Brighton, Hamburg, Brighton Township, and Pinckney, with both locations operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Vortex Car Wash & Pet Wash is a locally owned business with two Livingston County locations at 524 W Grand River Ave in Brighton and 7552 M-36 in Hamburg.
