Rogers, AR — Parenti-Morris Eyecare has announced that their very own Alex Bell, O.D., has been named as the new president of the Arkansas Optometric Association. He was sworn in on April 26, marking a major accomplishment in his career as an optometrist. The is a source of great pride and excitement for the entire team at Parenti-Morris Eyecare. With the naming of Dr. Bell as president of the state optometric association, Parenti-Morris reaffirms their commitment to exceptional care and outstanding service, with Dr. Bell lending not only further credibility but also esteem to the practice with his new role.
“It really is such an immense honor,” said Dr. Bell. “There is a legacy of service and leadership at PMEC, and I am honored to continue that legacy! I can’t emphasize how grateful I am. I couldn’t have done it without the support I’ve gotten from the Parenti-Morris Eyecare team since I joined back in 2009.”
The Arkansas Optometric Association was founded in 1906, with the mission of preserving, promoting, and advancing the optometric field in the state. The nonprofit organization is an affiliate of the nationwide American Optometric Association, which sets professional standards in the industry and is the main representative organization of the field, including to the government. Dr. Bell previously was awarded the Young Optometrist of the Year award by the Arkansas Optometric Association in 2019. He also won the Special Service Award in 2016.
“My naming as president has only further cemented my commitment to what I do,” continued Dr. Bell. “I want all my patients and everyone who knows about this title to understand my immense desire to continue my service in the optometric industry in Arkansas, supporting our wider community, and upholding the reputation that Parenti-Morris has built for over half of a century. Helping improve my patients’ quality of life gives me so much purpose, and I wouldn’t be in this position today if it weren’t for the trust they put in all of us at Parenti-Morris Eyecare.”
Dr. Bell is originally from Rogers, AR, and he received his Bachelor of Science in biology at the University of Arkansas. He completed his Doctor of Optometry cum laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, after which he underwent extensive training in ocular surgery co-management, glaucoma diagnosis and management, and contact lens fittings. He joined the Parenti-Morris Eyecare team in 2009. As a member of the Arkansas Optometric Association, Dr. Bell has served as the convention chairman and has also sat on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association.
