Katrina Ilonka Johnson, one of Snow Tequila’s co-founders, is also the owner of Dr. Juice, a beverage company based in Cabo, San Lucas specializing in wellness beverages. Since 2019, operating Dr. Juice has afforded Katrina numerous opportunities across Central and South America.
In 2021 Barbara Sanders, the owner of Snow Magazine joined forces with Johnson, and thus the plans for the launch of the Snow Tequila brand were set in motion. The following year, a true luxury brand for the tequila enthusiast blossomed, and this dynamic duo embarked on a mission to disrupt the industry.
What sets Snow Tequila products apart is the low calorie, clean, and sophisticated taste elevating the tequila experience for consumers who deeply care about clean drinking choices. With a dash of citrus and almond, Snow Tequila products are aged for half a year in white oak barrels to ensure the taste is naturally reinforced and kept as potent as possible.
Additive-free, sweet, smooth, and exceptionally savory, the first batch of Snow Tequila officially entered the market with 3,000 premium quality bottles. Both Johnson and Sanders are Aspen-native ladies, and they began their conquest of the boutique tequila industry locally.
The “first snow” for Snow Tequila fell in Aspen in February of 2022 across a host of premium restaurants, including Wild Fig, Casa Tua, and the Woody Creek Tavern. Eureka and La Popular restaurants have chosen Snow Tequila to elevate their extraordinary tequila cocktails, offering cocktail enthusiasts a cleaner and purer choice that redefines the drinking experience.
The exotic taste, elegant packaging, and uncontested purity of Snow Tequila’s prized Cristalino Reposado attracted numerous tequila connoisseurs and enthusiasts to the initial sampling events, which served as a cornerstone for the brand’s rapid growth.

Additionally, the clear-as-snow Cristalino Reposado was dubbed “Exceptional” and scored a whopping 90 points at the Tequila & Spirits Magazine Tasting Awards in 2023, scoring yet another gold medal.
Beyond leading a rapidly growing tequila brand, Katrina Ilonka Johnson is also sitting at the helm of a charitable foundation “Let It Snow”, co-founded by Katrina, Chamonix Johnson, and Omar Venegas.
“Let it snow – where love and laughter melt into hope” is a foundation committed to nurturing children stricken by poverty, fostering a warm, comfortable environment where they can feel safe and at home.
“Through the Let It Snow foundation, we are building food banks and safe areas where lost children gain trust through play and regular access to warm meals,” said Katrina. “We have local volunteers on the ground that prepare food and backpacks with basic needs.
