The recently published report cites Nuance Energy’s patented earth anchor design, which consists of a hand-sized metal anchor connected to a 72-inch tether cable, as being the innovation which will drive this new boom in solar panel installations. The tethering system is quick to install, using only handheld tools, and is pull-tested to withstand the extremes of weather typically experienced on exposed hillside sites.
Nuance Energy’s earth anchor works in tandem with the company’s Osprey PowerPlatform® racking system, which can also be installed by a three-man crew using power tools. Since neither foundation nor racking requires concrete, the company’s line eliminates the need for heavy machinery. This makes the models easy to install in areas where diggers and other vehicles cannot gain access without extensive site preparations, such as on rocky or sloped terrain.

Each telescopic leg support can be independently altered to accommodate slopes and uneven ground surfaces, reducing the need for levelling.
