Key Findings from the 2025 Advocacy Benchmark Report:

  • Email Engagement: The average email open rate in 2024 was 39.2%, with an action rate of 6.9%. In the first half of 2025, open rates averaged 36.7%, with action rates holding steady at 6.5%.
  • Text Messaging: Advocacy text messaging reached record highs, with more than 12 million texts sent in 2024, followed by an additional 10 million texts in the first half of 2025 — the largest volumes since 2016.
  • Seasonality: October was the busiest month for email advocacy in 2024, followed by November and December, underscoring the impact of year-end policy and electoral priorities.
  • Sector-Specific Performance: Labor organizations achieved the highest open rates (50% in 2024; 45.3% in 2025 YTD), while clergy and religious organizations recorded the highest action rates (13.7% in 2024; 10.8% in 2025 YTD).
  • Action Center Engagement: In 2024, 4.8 million users generated 9.6 million Action Center page views, with 61% of traffic originating from mobile devices. In just the first half of 2025, more than 4.1 million users had already visited clients’ Action Centers.
