Informatica today announced advanced features to its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform. The new AI-powered data management capabilities are designed to simplify and enhance enterprise-wide access to AI-ready data. The release introduces new features across data integration, governance, quality, master data management and iPaaS.
According to Kelle Fontenot, Chief Digital Officer at KPMG, “AI and digital transformation are imperative to business growth, but these efforts are only as strong as the data behind them. Whether it's building a report or utilizing the most advanced Generative AI model, access to trusted data is critical to ensure accurate and reliable outcomes.”
Key Highlights:
Master Data Management (MDM): The launch introduces advanced capabilities that help organizations enrich and govern their master data with more precision and speed (all generally available).
- CLAIRE® Match Analysis and Explainability: Provides comprehensive match analysis with explainability for transparency into how records are matched. It includes self-service tuning capabilities to let users tweak match rules without IT support and leverages existing supervised learning capabilities to automate match accuracy.
- Enrichment and Validation Orchestrator: Provides an AI-powered framework within MDM to automate validation and enrichment of records. This robust framework orchestrates how records are enriched and validated across Informatica services, as well as third-party data sources and large language models (LLMs). It enables the transformation of raw, often messy data into a reliable and valuable asset, for better decision making and more efficient operations.
- Data Catalog Scanner for MDM: An enhanced, prebuilt metadata scanner automatically catalogs MDM assets, maps data lineage, adds business context to technical data and enforces security and compliance requirements. This integration between Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) and MDM improves auditability of master data assets, reduces data silos and gets data ready for AI and analytics by providing a complete and trusted view.
Data Integration: Informatica continues to simplify and scale how data is ingested, transformed and delivered, enabling AI-powered use cases (all generally available).
- CLAIRE® Copilot for Data Integration: Informatica announced CLAIRE Copilot for data integration at Informatica World (May 2025), its annual user conference. The capability democratizes and simplifies pipeline development with natural language prompts and smart execution recommendations. In the summer release, Informatica has enabled new interactive Q&A capabilities that allow users to ask questions about how to use the product, with answers sourced directly from documentation and help articles.
- Expanded Connectivity: Informatica can now connect to Delta tables (a way of storing large datasets efficiently) within Microsoft Fabric (Microsoft’s new unified data platform), which lets users work with data more easily. The expanded connectivity also includes broader catalog integration for open table formats like Apache Iceberg, and log-based CDC for SAP HANA, ensuring data flows smoothly and efficiently across different cloud platforms.
Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) Enhancements: The enhancements make Informatica's platform more flexible and AI-friendly, allowing it to work seamlessly with the latest AI tools while giving customers more control and real-time capabilities (all generally available).
- Support for Model Context Protocol: Support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) Servers for AI processes. Customers can now build and manage their MCP servers to connect to any asset on Informatica’s cloud platform (such as MDM) managed on Informatica’s Cloud Application Integration. This feature will enable customers’ AI Agents/LLMs to leverage IDMC assets as tools to make the agents more accurate and relevant, whilst significantly reducing integration time.
- New GenAI Connectors for Application Integration: Easily connect new GenAI connectors like NVIDIA NIM, Databricks Mosaic AI, and Snowflake Cortex AI to popular AI applications, boosting developer productivity and simplifying integrations.
- Recipe Marketplace: Users can now publish and share reusable workflow templates “recipes” ranging from GenAI use cases like NVIDIA image generation and Slack AI Agent RAG to business automation such as Netsuite-Shopify e-commerce sync.
Data Governance: To simplify and strengthen AI Governance, Informatica delivers greater automation, visibility, and control (all generally available).
- AI Governance Inventory & Workflows: Delivers a robust AI governance catalog for AI use cases by tracking models, datasets, and approvals, ensuring responsible and compliant deployment across the enterprise. This includes the ability to customize evaluation metrics, scanning and visualizing of lineage for AI models. A business-friendly workflow builder in Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) that manages approvals for AI models, supporting better stakeholder collaboration.
- Data Quality Rules as API: Informatica’s IDMC Real-time data quality checks via REST APIs, a standard, web-friendly way for applications to request data quality checks for improved data trust and governance. As a benefit, customers can assess, clean and enrich their data in real-time.
- AI-Powered Lineage Discovery: Now automatically maps data flows from source systems to applications and AI models, accelerating speed of CDGC deployment, time-to-insights and modernization efforts.
Krish Vitaldevara, Chief Product Officer at Informatica, said, “Our customers are crystal clear about what they need to scale their AI ambitions - trusted data, simplified governance and seamless integration across platforms. With the Summer 2025 release of IDMC, we’re delivering exactly that. From enhanced master data management and real-time data quality APIs to elastic orchestration and expanded GenAI integrations, these innovations provide organizations the trusted data foundation they need to move faster and build confidently with AI.”
