This partnership ensures patients at Sovah Health – Danville continue to receive a safe, reliable blood supply, collected from donors in their own community. Sovah joins over 130 hospitals, EMS, and med-flight organizations that rely on TBC for lifesaving blood products. The transition reflects a growing trend of hospitals partnering with dedicated blood centers to strengthen efficiency and donor service.
“We are honored to partner with Sovah Health to support the people of Danville and the greater Southside Virginia region,” said Delisa K. English, President and CEO of The Blood Connection. “Our team is proud to stand alongside Sovah’s trauma teams and surgeons to save lives while making it easier for local donors to give where they live.”
The Danville Community Blood Center will open to the public on Saturday, November 1 with expanded hours, donor incentives, and more mobile blood drives. Donors can give whole blood, platelets, and other lifesaving components both at the center and throughout the region.
TBC brings over 60 years of experience serving hospitals across the Southeast, including the Carolinas, Georgia, and Virginia. Its FDA-regulated model ensures the highest standards of safety, inventory management, and hospital support.
“Donors and patients alike should feel confident that this transition will bring continued excellence and innovation to the region’s blood supply,” said Steve Heatherly, Market President at Sovah Health. “We are excited to welcome TBC’s expertise and community-driven approach to our network of care.”
TBC encourages local schools, businesses, and churches to get involved. Every donation stays local and supports patients right here in Danville.
