Prior, Bhat co-founded and served as the CEO and co-founder of Kloudio, a no-code self-service data analytics platform that was acquired by Alation in 2022. Post-acquisition, he stayed on as a product leader at Alation, driving the company’s data exploration and federated data catalog product lines. Alation is recognized as an industry-leading data intelligence platform and was named a Leader in the Forrester Wave™: Data Governance Solutions, Q3 2023 report.

Bhat has also served as a product leader at Amazon, and his career to date reflects his passion for solving problems in the data intelligence and data exploration space for billions of knowledge workers worldwide. He brings a next-generation, data-informed perspective to his role at Transcend.

“As a founder in the data space, it’s obvious companies have entered the era of digital governance. This transformation is driven by a tidal wave of privacy regulation that's now being followed by a second wave of AI regulation,” said Mr. Bhat. "From democratizing data access for the hundreds of millions of business users in my roles at Kloudio and Alation to now democratizing data privacy and data rights for everyone, it’s really about breaking down barriers and building customer trust for companies. Transcend has an impressive technological lead in privacy and can uniquely address the hardest data management problems in this space. I'm incredibly excited to carry that vision forward to the full spectrum of digital governance challenges yet to come."

"Krishna is deeply aligned with the future Transcend sees for privacy and digital governance in the enterprise. This market is undergoing a mass migration from legacy offerings that feed cumbersome operational procedures to next-generation technology—technology that easily embeds privacy controls across the enterprise, into the vast systems that process personal data. Krishna's background and vision embody everything customers expect from modern privacy technology—today, into 2025, and beyond," said Ben Brook, CEO and co-founder of Transcend.

Most companies use legacy privacy platforms built on manual workflows: interviewing data owners, data entry, and assigning operational work across teams. Transcend focuses on encoding privacy controls directly into business systems, with a novel approach centered around the full privacy life cycle of personal data. This includes data discovery and classification, consent and preference management, and automating operational workflows, such as responding to data deletion and access requests.

In May 2024, Transcend raised a $40M Series B led by new investor StepStone Group, with participation from HighlandX and existing investors Accel, Index Ventures, 01 Advisors (01A), Script Capital, and South Park Commons. This brings the total raised to nearly $90M. Category leaders like Plaid, Brex, Hims & Hers, and Rippling—as well as confidential Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies—choose Transcend as their privacy and governance partner.

Transcend has also delivered actionable data rights to over 1.2 billion people globally.
