17^th annual report details another landmark year distinguished by significant strides in sustainability that raised the standard for the industry.

In 2023, the company’s focus on sustainability remained fundamentally about its customers. KB Home continued to demonstrate that a sustainable home can significantly reduce the total cost of homeownership while exceeding customers’ dreams. The report highlights the company’s industry-leading sustainability initiatives and achievements from this past year.

In 2023, KB Home achieved the following outcomes:

• Energy-Efficiency Leadership: KB Home’s 2023 national average Home Energy Rating System^® (HERS) Index score was 46, which is 54% more efficient than a typical home built in 2006 and underscores the company's longstanding commitment to helping homebuyers lower their utility bills and preserve natural resources. Additionally, KB Home has built over 190,000 high-performance ENERGY STAR^® certified homes since 2000, more than any other national homebuilder, cumulatively saving homeowners an estimated $1.2 billion in utility bills and avoiding 7.4 billion pounds of CO₂ emissions.
• Promoting Water Resiliency: The company constructed a record-high number of WaterSense^® labeled homes in all its new communities across the southwestern U.S. to help support the region’s long-term water resilience. Since 2005, KB Home has built over 21,000 Water Smart and WaterSense labeled homes, more than any other homebuilder, helping to conserve an estimated 2 billion gallons of water annually.
