Panasonic introduces the new Lumix S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 lens and Lumix S9 mirrorless camera with new lens kits, colorways, and firmware updates.
B&H is pleased to announce Panasonic’s new lens kits, colorways, and firmware updates for their recently released S9 camera. Now, users have two new kit options to choose from. The first is the Lumix S9 Mirrorless Camera with 28-200mm f/4-7.1 lens kit, which provides a vast zoom range. There’s also the Lumix S9 Mirrorless Camera with 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 lens kit, which offers great mobility and a wider perspective. The S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 lens kit is available in the S9’s newest pink and mint green colorways. Along with these new kits are a host of firmware updates for the Lumix S9, S5 II, S5 IIX, and G9 II cameras that improve user experience and enhance camera functionality.

Starting with the S9 camera, up to three frame markers can now be displayed simultaneously for greater convenience when composing your shot with Open Gate. The Phase Hybrid AF system has been improved with airplane and train detection as well as detection of specific parts of cars and motorcycles. Additionally, the recording time limit has been removed and overall operational stability has been increased.
The S5 II, S5 IIX, and G9 II now have compatibility with the Lumix Lab app, which allows users to edit and transfer photos and videos with ease as well as download LUTs. They now avail compatibility with the Panasonic DMW-XLR2 XLR microphone adapter and allow 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency.
With the addition of these new lens pairings, vibrant colorways, and firmware updates, Panasonic has bolstered the appeal of the S9 by providing greater camera capabilities and a wider array of lens and color options to choose from. Thus, the S9 continues to be a unique hybrid system that delivers impressive full-frame image quality and excellent mobility.
