NetBrain Power Users can compete to demonstrate their prowess at applying no-code network automation to the problems they see every day.
NetBrain Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of no-code network automation and visibility solutions for hybrid cloud-connected networks, today announced its first annual Network Automation Hackathon. This bi-monthly competition, open to all graduates of NetBrain’s Power User training program, poses real-world network operations challenges and invites participants to address each with no-code network automation. The first hackathon begins today, November 6th.
Participant will use their experience with NetBrain and career-spanning technical acumen to craft a unique automation solution for each challenge, using a dedicated live instance of the NetBrain Next-Gen platform (complete with a simulated enterprise multi-vendor and multi-cloud network). Detailed technical guidance, a dedicated Hackathon support hotline and even solution “hints” will be provided to help participants learn from the Hackathon process. Participants will be awarded points for each submission based on completeness and accuracy, with badges and trophies given for successful submissions during each challenge. In addition, participants that demonstrate great automation acumen and accumulate many points across multiple challenges will be recognized as a “Master of Automation,” with the top performers celebrated as a “Grand Master of Automation.”
For network operations professionals unable to join the Hackathon, the winning solutions will be published at the end of each competition and presented in a challenge update webinar which will be open to all. This educational opportunity will show how simple it can be to apply no-code network automation to everyday problems, as demonstrated by their peers.
Each hackathon will consist of a set of real-world networking challenges across four common problem areas:
- Network Mapping, Visualization and Network Design decoding
- Auto Diagnosis and Troubleshooting
- Continuous Network Assessment and Outage Prevention
- Safe Change Management: Defending change operations before, during and after changes are made
“We see our Hackathon program as a great opportunity to help our power users improve their automation skills, build community among NetBrain users, and most importantly, demonstrate to their peers that no-code network automation can easily be applied to everyday problems. NetBrain’s no-code network automation makes automation accessible to every network engineer,” said Song Pang, SVP of Engineering at NetBrain. “Many organizations still hold an outdated idea that network automation requires highly specialized software development teams and can only be applied to the largest and most critical problems. This is no longer the case. Our customers are proving that automation can be incorporated into their daily operational plan. By posing these Hackathon challenges and sharing the winning solutions, we are demonstrating, in a very tangible way, that no-code network automation can be adopted quickly by all.”
All students of NetBrain’s Power User training are automatically registered and will receive confirmation emails for the first set of challenges on November 6th. Students that complete Power User training subsequently will be registered in time for the next Hackathon challenge. More information can be found here: NetBrain Hackathon.
