StatLab Medical Products (StatLab), a leading developer and manufacturer of diagnostic supplies and equipment for the anatomic pathology market, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Kim Kelderman to the StatLab Board of Directors. Currently serving as President of the Diagnostics and Genomics Segment at Bio-Techne, Kim brings over 25 years of healthcare experience to the board, including over 20 years in executive positions successfully leading and growing both start-ups and billion-dollar business units.
“We are very excited to welcome Kim to our board and anticipate an immediate impact on our company and executing our patient care and growth strategy,” said Mike Karsonovich, StatLab CEO. “Kim oversaw significant growth at Bio-Techne, and I am confident we will benefit from his guidance as StatLab continues its fast-paced growth.”
Kim Kelderman joined Bio-Techne in 2018 as President, Diagnostics and Genomics where he leads the diagnostics business while developing and driving Bio-Techne’s strategic initiatives in genomics and genomics-based diagnostics. Prior to joining Bio-Techne, Kim led three different businesses at Thermo Fisher Scientific including management of the Platforms and Content of the Genetic Sciences Division, where he was responsible for the Instrumentation, Software, Consumables and Assays businesses, and brands such as Applied Biosystems and the legacy Affymetrix genetics portfolio. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher, Kim led the global Blood Tubes “Vacutainer” business as Senior Segment Leader at Becton Dickinson. In 2005 Kim joined GeneOhm Sciences—a start-up molecular diagnostics company—as Vice President of Operations and General Manager of its Canadian business, prior to Becton Dickinson acquiring the company in 2006. Mr. Kelderman earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in Heerlen, Netherlands.
“Over the last year Audax Private Equity, Linden Capital Partners and the StatLab team have made strategic investments in people, portfolio and infrastructure,” commented Mr. Kelderman. “I’m eager to help guide the team as we build momentum in the anatomic pathology market and help our customers improve patient care.”
