What’s Hot in South Florida Design? Modern, Minimalist, and Beachy Says Designer for Real Estate Developer NRIA

By: via AccessWire

SEACAUCUS, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / January 26, 2022 / National Realty Investment Advisors (NRIA), a trendsetter in the development of luxury real estate up and down the East Coast, reports that modern, minimalist, and beachy style is what's hot in design for South Florida today.

Clients want clean lines, says interior designer Carrie Leigh Bollella of Carrie Leigh Designs in Delray Beach, who designs for New Jersey-based real estate developer NRIA. And what clients REALLY want, she says, is to match the elegance of those clean lines with a relaxed-beachy feel. Together, this creates the modern coastal vibe that's trending in South Florida design today.

High-end real estate developers and home-buyers alike, says Bollella, are demanding upscale modern design in South Florida. NRIA came to Bollella when they were putting together the plans for their residential real estate development, the Gulf Stream Views townhomes in Boynton Beach, and wanted to capture the essence of the region.

"NRIA gave me a lot of freedom with their vision," she says. "NRIA's Gulf Stream Views was to reflect modern architecture but with a coastal feel."

Bollella envisioned a look for NRIA that was luxurious without being ostentatious, she says, much like the booming and neighboring South Florida communities of Palm Beach and Delray.

"I looked to Europe too," she says. "Living at Gulf Stream Views should feel like you are on vacation on the Riviera in Italy."

That indoor/outdoor vacation lifestyle is a key part of South Florida design, according to Bollella. "I chose durable materials like tile that can handle sand and water," she says. "I used a lot of wood throughout as well. It's soft on the foot and captures the natural feeling of the beach."

A sleek, clean, and minimalist look were carried out throughout NRIA's Gulf Stream townhomes, with wood vanities, simple lighting, and touches of black used for depth. "It's that mix of relaxation and culture," she says of South Florida style. "You can wake up and put your feet in the sand and go to a museum in the afternoon."
