Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On July 14, 2009 the Board of Directors of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (the "Company") appointed Terrance Paradie as Chief Accounting Officer in addition to his current duties as Vice-President, Corporate Controller.
Mr. Paradie, 41, joined the Company in October 2007 as Vice President, Corporate Controller. Mr. Paradie was previously employed with KPMG LLP ("KPMG") from 1992 to 2007. Mr. Paradie's most recent title with KPMG was audit partner. No change was made to Mr. Paradie’s compensation as a result of his appointment as Chief Accounting Officer.
Laurie Brlas, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, relinquished the title Chief Accounting Officer, which she had held since September, 2007.
