Tokyo, February 12, 2009— Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. and Morgan Stanley continue to discuss a wide range of opportunities to work together in many regions globally, including the possibility of cooperating in Japan. However, there is no factual basis to media reports yesterday, including the suggestion that the two sides have agreed to a time table or structure for a joint operation in Japan.
