Liquidation of UFJ Trust Equity Co., Ltd.

Tokyo, December 25, 2006 — Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (MUFG) announced today that Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation (MUTB), a subsidiary of MUFG, has decided to liquidate UFJ Trust Equity Co., Ltd. (UFJTE), which is a subsidiary of MUTB.

2. Reason for liquidation

It was decided to consolidate the operations of UFJTE into MUTB. Consequently, it has been decided to liquidate UFJTE.

 

3. Timing of liquidation

Liquidation is expected to be completed around March 2007.

 

4. Impact on MUFG’s business forecast

This event is not expected to have any material effect on MUFG’s previously announced business forecast for the current fiscal year.
