On June 9, 2003, Potlatch Corporation issued the following press release:

 

Potlatch Corporation (NYSE: PCH) today announced that it has received final approval of a federal income tax refund of approximately $24.5 million. The refund is the result of a settlement with the Internal Revenue Service for tax years 1989 through 1994.

 

Approximately $12 million of the settlement is interest income that the company will report in the second quarter of 2003.
