Peace Arch Signs Licensing Agreement for Exclusive Distribution of Two Popular Animated Series with Amberwood Productions

Company’s kaBOOM! Division Continues Validation of Business Model with DVD Distribution Rights in Canada

TORONTO—September 22, 2006 -- Peace Arch Entertainment Group Inc. (AMEX:PAE - News) (TSX:PAE-LV.TO - News), a rapidly emerging, vertically integrated film and television company, has announced that the Company’s kaBOOM! Entertainment division has acquired the Canadian distribution rights to two animation titles from Amberwood Productions.

kaBOOM! signed a seven year licensing agreement with Ottawa-based Amberwood Productions for the exclusive DVD distribution rights in Canada for the popular pre-school TV series, “The Secret World of Benjamin Bear” and the animated version of the Christmas classic “The Nutcracker Prince.”

“The DVD market in Canada for children’s entertainment continues to grow each year,” said Berry Meyerowitz, President of kaBOOM! Entertainment. “kaBOOM! has been a leader in this market for many years and these two great titles position us with high quality ‘evergreen’ content that will continue to be exploited for many years.”

“The Secret World of Benjamin Bear,” is an animated pre-school television series commissioned by and currently airing on The Family Channel. In 2D animation, the series consists of thirty nine half hour programs that will be launched on DVD in early 2007. The property is currently being distributed in the U.S. by Genius Products and has been licensed in more than 65 territories worldwide.

Jonathan Wiseman, Director of Sales & Marketing at Amberwood says, “This is a very meaningful deal for us.  kaBOOM! has a proven track record for DVD distribution in Canada and will be the perfect home for both ‘Benjamin’ and ‘The Nutcracker Prince.’”

“The Nutcracker Prince” (1990), which stars the voices of Kiefer Sutherland, Peter O’Toole and Phyllis Diller, won the Young Artist Award for Most Entertaining Family Youth Motion Picture in the Animation category.  “It was released theatrically worldwide in 1990, and was previously released through Warner Home Video on VHS and DVD. The DVD will be released on December 5, 2006 (running time is 68 minutes).
