On October 18, 2016, we announced that we will hold a special meeting of stockholders on December 15, 2016 to seek approval of various matters necessary to complete the American Capital Acquisition.  On the same date, we also announced that our registration statement on Form N-14, which includes a joint proxy statement of Ares Capital and American Capital and a prospectus of Ares Capital, had been declared effective by the SEC and that the joint proxy statement/prospectus was first being mailed or otherwise delivered to stockholders on or about October 18, 2016.
